Alpine ski touring offer a great feeling of freedom. However, a successful ski tour needs a solid plan and appropriate risk management on tour. Our ski course provides the tools to enjoy the touring days with safety. The course includes both theory of avalanche awareness and ski tours planning and practical exercises of touring technique and tactics and companion rescue of avalanche victims.

1. Tag

Wir treffen uns in Mayrhofen (Zillertal, Tirol) um 9 Uhr und fahren zum Parkplatz der Hütte. Von dort aus steigen wir auf die Rastkogel Hütte. (2124 m, 1,5h) Von der Hütte machen wir eine kurze Tour auf Roßkopf (2576 m). Inhalte des Nachmittages sind Theorie und Praxis der Kameradenrettung bei Lawinenunfällen und Grundrisse der Lawinenkunde und Skitourenplanung. Übernachtung und Abendessen in der Hütte.

 

Day 1

We meet in Mayerhofen (Zillertal, Tyrol) at 9 clock drive further to the parking of the hut. Then we ascent to the Rastkogel Hütte (2124m 1,5h) From the hut we make a short tour to Roßkopf (2576m). The contents of the afternoon are theory and practice of companion rescue of avalanche victims and basic skills of avalanche awareness and planning of ski tour. Dinner and lodging in the hut.

Day 2

We make an approximately 4-5 hour training tour on one of the peaks of the region. During the tour we use the knowledge gained the previous day to assess the danger of avalanches and learn basics techniques of ascent and descent in the tour area. In the evening we continue learning more about the themes of the 1st days theory. Dinner and overnight in B & B.

Day 3

We still make a final training Tour (4-5h) and deepen the acquired knowledge in practice. Finally, we return to the starting point. Event ends about 16 clock.

The tour is addressed to ski touring beginners. Technically it is enought if you have some experience of skiing off piste. Participants must be able to perform three-hour ascent and about 5 hours total touring time per day in moderate pace.

Bei den Skitouren handelt es sich um hochalpine Touren mit ausgesetztem Gelände, Lawinengefahr und Steinschlagefahr. Die Tagesziele können bei ungünstigen Witterrungsbedingungen (Schneefall, Eis, Nebel, Regen, Sturm, Lawinengefahr, Gewittergefahr) nur unter erschwerten Bedingungen oder auch gar nicht zu erreichen sein. Mit dem auch kurzfristigen Eintreten solcher Witterrungsverhältnisse muss im Hochgebirge leider stets und zu jeder Tages- und Jahreszeit gerechnet werden.

Die Tour findet in der Schweiz statt. Achten Sie bitte auf einen ausreichenden Versicherungsschutz! (Auslandkrankenversicherung sowie eine Versicherung, die eventuelle Rettungs- und Bergungskosten deckt).
